Capileira | Pedro A. de Alarcón museum

Key figure in the 19th century Spanish novel, Pedro Antonio de Alarcón wrote among his travel books, “La Alpujarra,” a work which describes his impressions of the long journey.

While Capileira was not the objective of this trip, at the start of the 1970’s they dedicated an ethnological museum to him, that has many different pieces related to the writer and it recreates and atmosphere of an Alpujarran house, with the tools and displays of handicrafts from the area.
